Janyth is currently an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist in Specialized Geriatric Services at St. Joseph 's Health Care, Parkwood Hospital . She is also an Associate Scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute and a Casual Assistant Professor with the School of Nursing at The University of Western Ontario.

Academic Affiliations
Presently, Janyth is a Casual Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) and an Associate Scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute.
In the past, Janyth has been involved with McMaster University as a Preceptor to BScN students and as an Admissions Committee Interviewer for the BScN Program.
Interests/Research Interests
In May 2005, Janyth presented two posters at the Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association National Conference, in Halifax , Nova Scotia . Her posters included: “Clinical markers to predict progression from mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer disease”, and “Mild cognitive impairment and depressive symptoms”.
Janyth's most recent publications reflect her interest in Alzheimer disease and related dementias. Her work has been published in Restorative Neurology , Geriatrics Today: Journal of the Canadian Geriatrics Society , Clinical and Investigative Medicine, and the Journal of Advanced Nursing.
Current Activities/Future Plans
Janyth is currently involved in a number of organizations involved with geriatrics. She was an Invited Participant at the Provincial Consensus Workshop for the Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementias Research Priority Setting Project in March/April 2005. She is currently a member of the Clinical Research Impact Committee in the Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care Program at Lawson Health Research Institute; a member of the Geriatric Clinical Trials Research Group at Parkwood Hospital ; and a frequent guest speaker for the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex and other related organizations. Janyth also served from 2003 – 2005 as a Task Force Member on the RNAO Best Practice Guideline Development Panel for the Management of Dementia, Delirium, and Depression in the Elderly. |
