Interests/Research Interests
Mary Jo is involved in managing the care of the inpatient paediatric oncology population at the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario (CHWO). This role includes teaching patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and management at home.
Mary Jo has an active role in the care of the palliative patient, including pain and symptom management.
Mary Jo held the lead role in the development of guidelines for the Safe Handling of Cytotoxic Agents that was supported by The Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).
Current Activities/Future Plans
Mary Jo is currently the Chair of the POGO Nursing Committee. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of POGO, the Paediatric Palliative Care Committee at CHWO and POGO, and the Children's Oncology Group (COG).
