Nancy is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Maternal-Newborn Care Program at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital . Nancy 's goal is to create/develop practices that foster high quality, evidence-based care for women/families throughout the perinatal period.

In 2004/2005, Nancy was an Instructor for the Master of Nursing Program (Advanced Nursing Practice Program), at Athabasca University . Nancy has affiliation with UWO as an Advanced Practice Nurse at LHSC.
Interests/Research Interests
Nancy 's interests include: care of women/families, health promotion, education, and program co-ordination in various settings, with a primary focus on perinatal nursing.
Her areas of expertise include: family and woman-centred care, program development, adult education, precepting and orientating new staff, needs assessment of women/families and staff, supportive care in labour, fetal health surveillance, domestic violence, and newborn assessment.
Current Activities/Future Plans
Nancy is widely involved in the education of both students and nurses interested in perinatal nursing. In 2006, the publication of the Orshan Obstetrical Text will include Nancy 's contribution to the “High Risk Pregnancy, High Risk Labour and Birth” chapter. Nancy has also been a reviewer of obstetrical textbook chapters for the publisher Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins.
Nancy is currently the Chair of the Resources Committee for the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Nancy has been one of four reviewers for the Postpartum Compendium first published in 1995 by AWHONN and Johnson & Johnson. It will be released later this year with updated information specific to postpartum women and their families.
Nancy 's current job description is a blended role that includes time spent with women and families in a high-risk obstetrical clinic specifically for those who do not have a medical care provider and coordinating complex cases in the Perinatal program. Education continues to be a large part of her role as well as policy development and review of current practice.
