Tony has worked in London , Ontario , since 2005, initially as an advanced practice nurse on the citywide Geriatric Consultation-Liaison team and more recently out of Regional Mental Health Care, London . From 1998 until 2005 he was a CNS in Geriatric Psychiatry in Winnipeg , Manitoba . Previously, from 1987 - 1997, he was a senior lecturer in mental health nursing within the Faculty of Health Care and Social Studies at the University of Luton (now University of Bedfordshire), United Kingdom.

Interests/Research Interests

Tony's research interests include: Dementia, depression and delirium; homelessness; nurses' perceptions of electroconvulsive therapy; loneliness in the elderly; loss, adjustment and transitioning issues in aging (especially the death of an adult child); nurses' perceptions of professional, political and social forces which shape their practice specialty: past, present and future; ethical decision making in nursing practice.

Tony is currently active in:

•  Examining and managing risk events; especially falls reduction, restraints reduction.

•  Managing transitions from tertiary hospital care to long-term community care.

•  Facilitating opportunities for interprofessional collaborative education.

•  Supporting nurses' work through guided reflection on practice.
